Term: Virtual Terminal

« Back to Glossary Index

A virtual terminal is a way to enter a card not present transaction like a mail order/telephone order or even an eCommerce transaction. It is a software application that is usually hosted by your service provider’s servers and can be accessed and can be connected to by any internet web browser. In simplest terms it is like you took a paper order form with spaces for all the data you need to complete a transaction, digitized it and put it on your processor’s servers so you could access it via the internet. You type in the information needed for a transaction and complete the transaction.

So when I get my monthly statement I have been getting it from different people. It needs to come from ESP. It gets missed or goes to junk. John Williams
